Tisane teas are made from the leaves, flowers or roots, of plants other than the Camellia Sinensis bush. These herbal teas can be brewed as actual tea leaves, or blended with black, green or white teas to create an flavourful brew. All our Tisanes are naturally caffeine free (with the exception of Mate, which is high in caffeine content).
Herbal teas can be broken into three categories, based on their main ingredients, rooibos teas, mate teas, and herbal infusions:
- Herbal infusions, possibly the most popular herbal tea category, can consist of pure herbs, flowers, and fruits. They can be delicious as a hot drink or used to create a refreshing iced tea
- Rooibos tea is an herbal tea made primarily from the South African red bush
- Mate teas are an herbal tea made from the South American Yerba Mate plant
